In a special performance at UK's Virgin V Festival last night, Jay-Z took a moment to honor Linkin Park's Chester Bennington who died last month.
Jay-Z asked the crowd to 'light it up tonight' for Chester before the performance and to "make some noise so he can hear you all the way in heaven tonight!"
Jay-Z and Chester go way back, having teamed up for the Collision Course EP back 2004. From that EP, "Numb/Encore" won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 2006 Grammys.
This performance marks the first time Jay publicly mentioned Chester since he committed suicide on July 20th.
Such a great tribute to his friend.
