Dan Reynolds Says His Kids Decide What Songs Go On Imagine Dragons Albums

Earlier this month, Imagine Dragons dropped their fifth studio album Mercury—Act 1, and apparently we have Dan Reynolds' kids to thank for the songs that made the cut.

During a visit on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer revealed that he uses his four children (9-year-old Arrow, 4-year-old twins Gia and Coco, and nearly-2-year-old Valentine) as the barometer for what music's good enough to put out into the world.

"I play music for them every day; I write every day," he said. "Between them and my wife, they’re the ones that pick what goes on an Imagine Dragons record. I play them the songs, and if they want to hear them again then I’m like, ‘Okay, there’s something here.’ And if they don’t then it doesn’t make the record. So you can thank my 4-year-olds for putting together the records.”
