Billy was born just outside of Detroit, MI. Growing up he always had a passion for music, but thought it could never be a “career”. After graduating from Franklin High School, he then attended Wayne State University to study Criminal Justice, that’s when he suddenly realized he needed to follow his heart and pursue music. He enrolled in Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts to study radio/TV and within months then landed an internship at 93.1 WDRQ in Detroit. Willing to do anything and everything to prove his passion for music and radio, he quickly showed his ability to host his own show. Before he knew it, he was getting offers from stations all over the country.

In 2003, Billy signed a record deal with Columbia Records under the moniker “DF Dub”, where his single (“Country Girl”) peaked at number 18 on the Top 40 chart and was featured in numerous television programs and movie’s.
