Living in Los Angeles, we're all bonded over our love for the Dodgers - but for someone like me who grew up in Orange County, then went to college in San Diego and lived there before moving up to LA, people may wonder why I'm such a big Dodgers fan.
The truth is, I was pretty much born into it!
When both of my parents moved to the United States, they moved to Los Angeles and met here! That's when they became Dodger fans, and stayed fans of the team through our move to Orange County.
My parents have been big fans of the team since the '60s, so you could say I've been a Dodger fan since birth.
One hilarious memory I have from growing up a Dodgers fan was when my parents tried to take me, my brother and my sister to a game. I was about 8 or 9 years old and we all piled into my dad's 1987 lavender Cadillac to drive from Orange County to Dodger Stadium.
The problem was... once we exited the freeway to get to the stadium, my dad noticed that there was NO traffic getting into Dodger Stadium.
And let's face it, there is always traffic getting into the stadium!
Aaaand that was when we realized that the tickets for the game we were trying to go to were for the following day. And we had just driven all the way up from Orange County for the wrong day!!
He took my siblings and I to the original Tommy's Burger to make up for it. I think at the time we were bummed... but looking back now, it's pretty funny.
I can't wait to take my kids to their first Dodger game, which will probably have to wait until next season at this point. World Series tickets are too expensive right now!!
